How to Edit an Instagram Video for Reels

Instagram has launched the Reels feature, which is in some ways similar to Chinese TikTok. The only difference is that you don't have to use a third-party app to record Reels on Instagram. All the necessary tools, including editing, are built into the platform.
At first glance, Reels are similar to Stories, only the duration of the video is longer. The new videos have many advantages:

How to Rearrange Fragments of Clips for Reels on iPhone
Let's imagine that you've previously made some short videos, and you have an idea of how to use them in Reels in an interesting way.

You need to open your Instagram profile, click on the add reels icon and click on the gallery in the lower left corner of the screen.

Choose the videos you want to upload and click the "Add" button.
If you need to make new clips, go to the Reels menu and click the big button in the center. To stop recording, you must release the button. Repeat the action until you have recorded everything you want. Once you have uploaded or captured a video, press the "Next" button to go to the next step.

Click on the "Edit" button in the lower left corner.

Click the "Reorder" button to rearrange the clips

Click the "Add clips" button to upload or add missing clips.

When you are sure that all the clips are in the right order, click "Done".

Click "Next". Now You can add cover art and text, apply the necessary effects, and add geolocation.

Click "Share" to publish the Reels.

How to Trim a Video for Reels?
If you've made a great video, but it's longer than 60 seconds, or there are bloopers at the beginning or end, you can trim it on Instagram.

Click the + at the top of your page to add new Reels

Upload your finished video from the gallery or take it down by clicking the big button in the center of the screen

Once you've added the video, you'll see a slider at the bottom of the page.

Trim the beginning or end of the video.

Click "Done" to finish editing and publish Reels.
How to Delete One of the Reels’ Clips
If you've uploaded an extra clip, don't rush to start over. Go to "Edit" and click on one of the videos. A "–" icon will appear in the upper left corner. Click on it to remove the excess video and confirm the action.
How to Post a Video From Drafts
If you've tried to upload Reels but for some reason didn't finish it, you can save the video to drafts and publish it later. To upload a video from drafts, do the following steps:

Go to the Reels menu.

Click on the gallery in the lower left corner.

Go to the "drafts" tab.

Choose the video you want to publish and click "edit" in the top right corner.

Do all the necessary manipulations, which we've described in the sections above, and publish your video.
